About Us...

The owners of Castillito del Caribe are Dawn Fleming and Tom Clifford. Dawn first came to Isla Mujeres in 1994, when her best friend Laurie introduced her to this Caribbean Paradise. Tom fell in love on his first visit in 2002. In 2010, Dawn and Tom sailed Santorini, a 48’ center cockpit ketch from Southern California, 5000 miles though the Panama Canal and relocated to Florida.

They purchased the (much smaller) property in 2016 and doubled its size to maximize the incredible views the knew were waiting to be enjoyed. Castillito del Caribe has become a premier El Centro property on Isla Mujeres. We're located on the Caribbean Malecon, in the heart of the popular island village. Playa Norte, Mexico’s #1 Beach, the Main Plaza, ferry dock, souvenir shops plus over 40 restaurants and bars are a short, oceanfront walk away. They were living in the 3rd floor penthouse, but moved offsite in June 2023. So now the entire villa is a rental. (you may see reviews that say they live there but that's no longer the case).
